Who the Hell is Mr.Mankwa?
Who the Hell is Mr.Mankwa was a mockumentary web-series produced and directed by Native Collective with help from the British Council in 2017.
The series centers around Mr.Mankwa, a prolific (and entirely fictional) dancehall star of Kampala in the late 80's. Following the release of his first (and only) album, Saba Saba Sounds, his life of crime caught up with him and he was never seen or heard from again.
Years later, a group of young documentary film makers tracked some of the people around the myth that was Mr.Mankwa; from his childhood and through his rise to fame in the hopes to try and understand what the hell happened to him?
